Aston Villa fans have reacted on Twitter to rumours that their potential signing of Rodrigo Bentancur can affect Arsenal’s chances of landing Arthur Melo from Juventus.

The Juventus duo are on the transfer wishlists of both Aston Villa and Arsenal ahead of the window slamming shut next week.

But, according to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, the Serie A giants aren’t selling both players this month.

Given that Villa are possibly offering to buy Bentancur outright, then it does provide them with the advantage of landing the defensive-minded midfielder.

On the other hand, the Gunners are only offering a loan deal for their Brazilian target.

As a result, Villa fans think they will land their man and, as a result, Arsenal will miss out on signing their much-needed midfielder.

The Midlands side have added two new faces to their ranks already this month in Philippe Coutinho and Lucas Digne.

And it seems as though the recently-appointed, Steven Gerrard, wants more quality added to his European-chasing armoury.

Whereas over in north London, Arsenal are yet to bring in any incoming even though a midfielder and striker is needed.

Nonetheless, here is a selection of Villa fans reacting to the possibility of them signing Bentancur affecting Arsenal’s chances of landing Arthur.
