Liverpool’s Xherdan Shaqiri has reportedly refused a call-up to international duty.

Liverpool winger Xherdan Shaqiri’s stunt regarding international duty hasn’t gone down well.
The Switzerland star refused a call-up for upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against the Republic of Ireland and Gibraltar.
According to The Sun, Shaqiri’s snub is linked with a desire to play regularly for Liverpool.
The 27-year-old, who has 82 caps for his country, has mustered only five minutes of Premier League football for the Reds this season.
And former Switzerland hitman Kubilay Turkyilmaz claims that Shaqiri’s decision to reject his national team is a ‘bad joke’, adding that it’s ‘kindergarten stuff’ from the former Bayern Munich star.
He told Blick: “What is going on with Xherdan Shaqiri and the captain’s arm band is kindergarten stuff.
“Shaq saying now that he wants to focus on his club is a bad joke. You can say that, if you are getting chances to play. But is he?
“Every game he plays with the national team will be more helpful for him and Liverpool than sitting on the bench and grandstanding.”
Jurgen Klopp spent £13 million [The Telegraph] on signing the attacker last summer.
Initially it looked like a bit of a bargain for Liverpool, but eventually it was clear that he wasn’t contributing much to Klopp’s side and now it seems like the German manager doesn’t fancy him.
