Here are the players with the best shooting accuracy from the current Liverpool squad this season.

Liverpool have had a mixed start to their Premier League season.

Wins against Totenham Hotspur and Southampton book-ended a heavy defeat against Manchester City, while the Reds have also lost to West Ham United and Aston Villa in the opening weeks of the campaign.

As a result, Brendan Rodgers’ side is currently ninth in the Premier League, suffering from the departure of Luis Suarez, the absence of the injured Daniel Sturridge and summer signing Mario Balotelli’s failure to replace either as of yet.

As you can see from the table below, the £16million striker does not make it into Liverpool’s 10 ten most accurate shooters in the league this season, with Mamadou Sakho leading the way with 100 per cent (although that is from a single shot).

Italian Fabio Borini impresses with 66.67 per cent, suggesting he deserves more chances in place of the mis-firing Italian, as does Rickie Lambert, who has hit the target with half his efforts to date.

Adam Lallana impressed against West Bromwich Albion, and has looked like a very smart signing since he overcame his injury woes He currently has a 60 per cent shooting accuracy and that bodes well as the former Southampton man looks to ease some of the pressure on Liverpool’s forward line.

But the simple fact is they need Sturridge back and at his best, while Raheem Sterling needs to up his game and other forwards need to be given a chance if Balotelli continues to falter.

The season is long and Liverpool have the squad to finish in the top-four, but they cannot afford to keep dropping points, and a return after the international break must see a surge up the table this side of Christmas.
