Thiago Alcantara looks to be on course to make his comeback for Liverpool.
The Spain international hasn’t kicked a ball for the Reds in any competition since his debut in the 2-0 win away to Chelsea in September.
Thiago, who joined Liverpool from Bayern Munich last month, only came on at half-time that day, but he still managed to break a Premier League record for the highest amount of successful passes in a 45-minute period.
The 29-year-old later tested positive for the virus that has spread across the globe in 2020, putting him out of commission for two weeks.
But Thiago posted a photo of himself back in training at Melwood on Tuesday, claiming he’s ‘back on track’.
This is a massive boost for Liverpool; not only because he’s clearly a class act, but also because Jurgen Klopp’s side have a huge Merseyside derby away to Everton on Saturday.
The Toffees are enjoying a perfect season so far after winning all four of their Premier League games, putting them top of the table.
Liverpool might be the champions, but Everton are the form horses in England and victory is a lot more likely with Thiago than without him.
