Liverpool youngster Shamal George has confirmed on Twitter that he has not left Anfield.

George posted a message reflecting on the past campaign at Liverpool, where he has played for their development side.

And he also confirmed that he is still under contract at Liverpool, after fears that he could leave.

George is a goalkeeper, who is still awaiting his first senior appearance at Liverpool.

The 21-year-old’s experience has mainly come at under-23 level.

Liverpool have also loaned out George to Tranmere Rovers and Carlisle United over his career to date.

If George is to break into Jurgen Klopp’s first-team he now faces a tough task, as Liverpool’s goalkeeping options look set.

The Reds have used Alisson as their first choice, with Simon Mignolet providing cover.
