West Ham winger Robert Snodgrass announced his retirement from international football this week.

Liverpool defender Andy Robertson led the tributes, sending a heartfelt message to his now ex-teammate.

Snodgrass had made 28 appearances for his country since making his debut in 2011.

Robertson and Snodgrass also played together at Hull City, before the full-back was snapped up by Liverpool.

Snodgrass has been a bit part player for West Ham this year, making one start and three substitute appearances in the Premier League.

Retiring from international football gives the 32-year-old a chance to focus on his club career.

He will go up against Liverpool’s Robertson in December.
