According to French media outlet L’Equipe, Liverpool are keen on bringing the Belgian to Merseyside on a free transfer this summer, and are prepared to offer him a three-year deal.
Fellaini would be a really poor signing for the Reds, though, regardless of the fact that he will be available on a free transfer.
The cumbersome Belgium international’s style of play would be a terrible fit for Klopp’s high octane, intense pressing philosophy, and he certainly does not possess the attributes that the German usually looks for in a player.
The 30-year-old joined the Red Devils from Everton on transfer deadline day in the summer of 2013, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £27.5 million, but he has proven to be a divisive character amongst United fans.
Fellaini is a decent player, who would be an asset for any team with a more direct playing style, but Liverpool should avoid bringing him to Anfield at all costs.
