Jurgen Klopp may not be best pleased with Liverpool’s fixture congestion as of late, but they face another tough Champions League test against Ajax on Tuesday evening.
The Reds are in a comfortable position in their Champions League group, winning three of their four games so far, and they know that a victory against the Eredivisie outfit on Tuesday will all but confirm their place in the last 16.
However, with Klopp’s side so depleted by injury, he has to juggle a slight rotation with playing a team capable of beating Ajax, which isn’t the easiest task in the world, considering the fact that this is a side that were in the Champions League semi-finals just 18 months ago.
We’ve had a go at predicting Klopp’s starting XI for this match.
We think that Liverpool will make four changes for this game.
We’ve tipped Alisson to start between the sticks, but this was a tough pick after rumours have circulated about his fitness after he was missing from the first-team training photo gallery posted on the club’s website earlier this week.
The defence looks very similar to what we saw against Brightion with Kostas Tsimikas coming in for Andy Robertson for the only change.
The midfield trio is a strong one. Jordan Henderson is finally back in the starting XI after his injury worries, as is Naby Keita after Jurgen Klopp gave a positive update on his injury earlier this week.
Georginio Wijnaldum starts alongside those two.
The front three sees Sadio Mane return to the XI after starting the Brighton game on the bench, while Diogo Jota is preferred to Roberto Firmino in the centre-forward role.
Mohamed Salah starts on the right wing.
