If Tottenham are given the option to sign a player from their rival team, they should make an effort to sign Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho.

The last two seasons, including the current campaign, have proved that Tottenham Hotspur are really building something special under Mauricio Pochettino.
Spurs have some quality young footballers who can become world-beaters in the future. They have been playing an attractive brand of football, and at times the team have shown great character by picking up points after advancing from behind.
The upcoming summer transfer window is extremely significant for Tottenham. The primary target will be to keep hold of their manager and and of all their star players.
Spurs have a very good squad, and as of now, they do not have any major weaknesses. However, the early exit from the Champions League this season suggests that they need a solid bench and one or two established world class players.
There is a general feeling that Spurs lack that x-factor in their team – like say Alexis Sanchez or Eden Hazard – players who are capable of changing the course of the game on their own.
If there is one player from their rival team who can make a huge difference to this side, it is Liverpool’s attacking midfielder, Philippe Coutinho.
Coutinho is slowly attaining that level where he can be branded ‘world class’. He is supremely gifted and skilful. However, his prime importance lies in his ability to inspire a team and produce moments of magic.
The 24-year-old is the all time leading Brazilian goal scorer in the Premier League, and this season he has been in top form as well despite missing many matches through injury.
He has scored nine goals, and has six assists to his name. With 3.2 shots per game, an average of 2.2 key passes per game and 83.4% passing accuracy, as per whoscored.com, he is undoubtedly the central force in Liverpool’s excellent attacking set-up.
Be it his free-kick against Arsenal, long ranger goal against Manchester City, or dink past David de Gea in the Europa League, Coutinho brings an element of genius into his game.
In an ideal world, Tottenham would have offered a ridiculous transfer fee to sign the Brazilian magician. That option is far from reality.
