Barcelona are plotting a £20 million move for Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne when the January transfer window opens, according to The Sun.
The newspaper reports that Barca are searching for a new right-back after Dani Alves left the Camp Nou in the summer to join Juventus and have pinpointed Clyne as their number one target.

They even goes as far to claim that Barcelona have made “the first steps towards striking a deal,” but a nothing has been formally offered.
Clyne has a contract until 2020 at Liverpool and has been one of the stand-out performers for the club since Jurgen Klopp was installed as manager 12 months ago, which would force the Spanish giants to pay a hefty fee if they were to seal the deal.

The 25-year-old joined Liverpool in 2015 from fellow Premier League outfit Southampton in a £12.5 million deal and has gone on to win the majority of his 13 senior caps for England since his switch to Anfield.
Luis Enrique has used both Sergi Roberto and Aleix Vidal at right-back since the departure of Alves, but The Sun also state that the Barca boss has fallen out with the latter which if true will prompt the La Liga champions to launch a bid to find a new right-back as soon as the transfer window re-opens.
