Liverpool star Mohamed Salah believes the Reds are favourites against Tottenham this weekend, although he does not expect it to have a big bearing on the result.

The two teams face off in the Champions League final in Madrid on Saturday.

Salah and Liverpool lost the final a year ago. He said that he feels facing an English side will be tough.

He told The Telegraph: “All we have to do is stay focused on the game to win. Who’s favourite and who isn’t will not change what you have to do on the pitch.

“It could give us a bit of a boost, but it won’t be the main reason why a side wins a game.

“It is harder because it is an English side, but anyway we needed to win whether it was against Ajax or Spurs.”

Salah missed Liverpool’s remarkable comeback win over Barcelona through injury.

He is fully fit after a three week break and expected to start the final against Tottenham.

Spurs have a fully fit squad too, although their decision over returning striker Harry Kane is less clear cut. He has not played since early April, and Tottenham have to work out whether it is best to bring him off the bench.
