Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has said he is trying to learn something new every day in training – and it’s made easier by the manager, his staff and the players around him – the official Liverpool website reports.
Henderson has been one of several players who has seen his form step up another level this season, while the Reds skipper has perhaps had more to learn than any other individual in the squad as he has operated in a role that may have been unfamiliar to him prior to this season.

The Reds skipper told Premier League productions, as reported by liverpoolfc.com: “I try to learn something new all the time, but it’s easy when I am playing with the players I am playing with, with the manager I have got and the staff I have got, because there are no better people to learn from.
“I am just taking everything in, enjoying playing for one of the best clubs in the world and enjoying my football. I am just going to keep that going and keep learning from the best people I can.”
Henderson didn’t have the best of seasons last term as he was blighted by a persistent foot injury, broke a bone in his other foot and sustained a knee injury which all took their toll on his performances whenever he was available.

However, he has returned to the side in very good shape and has managed to learn a new role at the base of the Reds’ midfield. Some would call it a holding role, though perhaps not manager Jürgen Klopp – but it can’t be argued that he’s often the midfielder operating in the deepest role.
In Henderson’s quotes, there is an indication that there is more improvement to be made upon both him and this current Liverpool side. They went top of the table prior to the international break, and will look to stay there in the coming weeks.
