Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has said he was disappointed to pick up so many yellow cards at such an early stage of the season, the Daily Mirror reports.
Henderson collected his fifth booking of the season in the win over West Bromwich Albion last Saturday – meaning he served a one-match suspension for the EFL Cup tie against Tottenham on Tuesday.

The midfielder is quoted in the Daily Mirror, saying: “I won’t dwell on the topic except to say I’m disappointed in myself that I’ve picked up five bookings so quickly in the season.
“It’ll be something I look to learn from and address.”
Henderson has been adapting to a new role this season in a deeper midfield position, which perhaps exposes him to giving more free-kicks away, and sometimes feeling the need to take a cynical foul – and a booking – for the team.

However, his last booking was for backchat with the referee in the latter stages of the game against West Brom. Some would suggest that they are happy for Liverpool captain to forcefully make arguments on behalf of the side to the referee -while others would probably want him to take a step back.
Nevertheless it is an area of his game that Henderson has acknowledged he needs to work on for him to be available as much as possible throughout the campaign for his side.
He is likely to return to the side this weekend for the trip to Crystal Palace where Liverpool will look to keep up the pace at the top of the table – and hope to capitalise if any of their rivals drop points.
