The Liverpool youngster would be a useful summer addition for Newcastle United.
Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez
Magpies boss Rafa Benitez will be looking to bolster his defensive options this summer, as he looks to build a squad capable of enjoying a successful campaign in the Premier League during this upcoming season.
After releasing Vurnon Anita, the Spaniard will be looking to add an accomplished right-back to his group, and with this in mind, Newcastle should consider a move for Reds defender Joe Gomez.
The Argus claim that Liverpool are willing to loan the 20-year-old out this year, preferably to a Premier League side, so a move to St James’ Park would seemingly be an ideal outcome for all parties concerned.

Gomez is extremely quick off the mark, and is renowned for contributing both offensively and defensively – something that Benitez expects of his full-backs.
His time at Anfield has been disrupted by a serious ACL injury he suffered in 2015, but he has now returned to peak fitness levels, and a season with the Toon could help him get his career back on track.
Another string to Gomez’ bow is his versatility, what with his ability to play in either full-back position, or in the centre-back slot.

This would provide Benitez with the opportunity to set his team up with more tactical flexibility. His potential addition would also bring greater squad depth, especially with the likes of Grant Hanley and Ciaran Clark being linked with an exit from the club.
And with the transfer window now open, Newcastle should seriously consider making an approach for the Liverpool youngster, before the clamour for his signature begins.
