The Liverpool youngster would provide great competition for Kieran Trippier at Tottenham Hotspur…if Kyle Walker leaves.

Spurs right-back Kyle Walker has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City throughout the course of the summer, with the Lilywhites holding out for the £50 million that they value the 27-year-old at, according to the Independent.

If Walker does eventually leave Tottenham, Mauricio Pochettino will surely have to look at bolstering his right-back options.

Whilst Kieran Tripper would undoubtedly be considered as the number one right sided defender, the Argentine will most probably look at bringing in a younger understudy to the former Burnley man, and an interesting option for them could be Liverpool’s Joe Gomez.

The 20-year-old is facing an uncertain future at Anfield, after struggling with injuries over the past two years, with ESPN reporting that he has a lot of work to do to convince Klopp that he is good enough for the Reds.

Gomez is wonderfully versatile, and can play in either full-back position or in the centre-back slot – something that would undoubtedly appeal to Pochettino.

Despite his horrendous luck with injuries, the England under-21 international is now returned to his peak levels and is 100 per cent fit.

When at the top of his game, he possesses incredible stamina levels and is tenacious in the tackle – two attributes that the Spurs boss demands of his players.

Gomez still has five years remaining on his current deal with the Reds, but his potential availability will very much depend on whether Klopp sees him as a vital part of Liverpool’s future.

If the German doesn’t envisage the 20-year-old playing an important role in his side’s future, he may well be tempted to sanction his exit, and if he does, Tottenham should not hesitate to swoop in and sign the Englishman.
