From the drama of the Champions League, the intense Premier League title battle gets back underway this weekend.

Liverpool are fighting Manchester City for this year’s title, currently holding a slender lead, while City have a game in hand.

Tottenham are back at City this weekend and Liverpool midfielder James Milner is hopeful Spurs can get one over on Pep Guardiola’s side.

Spurs knocked City out on away goals, even though they lost 4-3 at The Etihad.

Milner told The Guardian that while he expects City to react strongly, he hopes that Tottenham make it difficult and spring a surprise.

He said: “Only City know how they are going to react. It is disappointing for them and they will push hard for the remaining games of the season. We will keep one eye on it but all we can do is influence our games.

“They are Premier League champions for a reason and I am sure they will react like champions. They will go again. But Spurs will have their backs up and want to go again after getting such a great result.”

Tottenham face City at 12.30pm on Saturday at The Etihad.

Liverpool do not pay until Sunday, hosting Cardiff. The Reds are heavy favourites to win, but if they come into the fame in second place then they could be more nervous than usual.

Tottenham are fighting for a top four place themselves when they take on City, and the result this weekend will shape both sides’ seasons, once again.
