Fabinho spoke to the club’s official website about Jurgen Klopp and what the Liverpool boss has been telling him to do in their training camp.

The Brazilian completed his second season as a Red and he has been hugely successful. Fabinho won the Champions League in his debut campaign and he has followed that up with a Premier League winners medal.

That is a dream start for the former Monaco man but there is still a lot he can offer. Liverpool’s famed front three get most of their goals while their full-backs are their primary creators.

Fabinho, who played in central midfield, scored just twice and provided four assists in all competitions. That is a low return for a midfielder but it is more due to how Klopp sets his team out than Fabinho’s performances.

However, the Brazilian can chip in more with goals and he showed that with two brilliant strikes against Manchester City and Crystal Palace in the league last season.

Liverpool fans would love for him to attempt more long-range screamers in the future and Klopp is no different.

Fabinho said: “He (Klopp) always talks about that I have to shoot more because I have this quality. I will try. I know I can do this, I have to try more in the games.

“Sometimes I have the chance to shoot more from long distance and I didn’t do this because I prefer to pass. But I scored two nice goals last season and I just have to train this and try a bit more in the games.”

Fabinho shooting more would bring a new dimension to Liverpool’s game, especially against teams that sit back and defend. When the Reds’ attackers can’t penetrate into the the final third, a piledriver from distance could help seal the game for them; something that Fabinho can quite easily pull off.

With Klopp urging him to have a pop at goal a lot more, Fabinho could well get on the score sheet regularly, which will only make Liverpool a stronger side as they aim to retain their Premier League title next season.
