Borussia Dortmund will reportedly resume talks with RB Salzburg for Germany international Karim Adeyemi, much to the annoyance of Liverpool.
According to Ruhr Nachrichten via GGFN, the Bundesliga side are willing to re-open negotiations with the Austrian champions for the 20-year-old attacker after previous talks came to a halt over the finances of the transfer.
As per Bild, Salzburg are looking for a club-record €45m (£38m) for Adeyemi, whilst Dortmund were only willing to offer €38m (£32m), though the sale of Erling Haaland would allow the German side to mee the valuation for the former Bayern Munich academy talent.
The news that Dortmund had seemingly stopped talks for Adeyemi was a huge boost for Liverpool, though, with the aforementioned Bild report stating that Jurgen Klopp’s side are also interested in the youngster and could have hijacked the deal.
However, this latest update has seemingly killed any hope of Liverpool completing a stunning transfer right from under Dortmund’s nose, with the German side set to resume talks with Salzburg for Adeyemi ahead of the opening of the summer window.
A talent who has compared himself to PSG star Kylian Mbappe, Adeyemi is a prospect who could flourish for a major European club, and for Liverpool, Dortmund’s decision to re-open talks is a major blow for their transfer plans this summer.
Dortmund will now do everything to beat Liverpool to Adeyemi signing

With Haaland set to leave Dortmund this summer, a replacement is certainly needed for Marco Rose’s side, and Adeyemi could be perfect for the Bundesliga side despite interest from Liverpool in the past few days.
Indeed, Adeyemi will likely develop into an outstanding striker at Dortmund given their track record with making young players into superstars, and for Liverpool, they will likely be unable to sell the German their project given how much their Bundesliga rivals want the 20-year-old.
