Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai has been hailed after driving Hungary to a 3-1 win over Montenegro on Sunday afternoon.

Dominik Szoboszlai is earning praise from former teammates having turned in a superb display for Hungary.

The Liverpool star has made a strong start to Premier League life having joined the Reds for £60million over the summer.

Szoboszlai ranks fourth for key passes in the Premier League this season, behind only James Maddison, Bruno Fernandes and Kieran Trippier.

Dominik Szoboszlai shines in Hungary victory

Szoboszlai serves as Hungary captain and turned in a real leader’s display on Sunday.

Hungary were 1-0 down to Montenegro in their final Euro 2024 qualifying clash before Szoboszlai took over.

Szoboszlai scored a stunning solo goal to draw Hungary level before making it 2-1 mere moments later.

Montenegro piled on the pressure but Hungary found a third late on, ending their qualifying campaign in style.

There was no doubt who the star of the show was, with Szoboszlai stepping up to drive his side to victory.

Liverpool star Szoboszlai praised after Hungary heroics

Szoboszlai took to Instagram on Monday to send a message, simply stating ‘This is just the beginning’ after Hungary’s win.

The Liverpool star received messages from a number of former teammates, including Leicester City striker Patson Daka, who stated that Szoboszlai is ‘cooking’ right now.

Another former Red Bull Salzburg striker, Moanes Dabbur, added ‘wow’ whilst Standard Liege attacker and ex-RB Leipzig man Noah Ohio added ‘what a player’.

Szoboszlai is enjoying a superb season so far, and the scary thing is that he should get better and better as he gets older.

£60million is really starting to look like a bargain for Szoboszlai and Liverpool will be delighted that he is theirs for years to come.
