Wolverhampton Wanderers wanted to sign Divock Origi from Liverpool in the summer transfer window, according to The Liverpool Echo.

It has been reported that Wolves were prepared to pay £22 million plus add-ons for the striker, and that there were discussions between the two clubs.

The report has also claimed that the 23-year-old Belgium international was not keen on moving to the Wanderers and turned down the move.

The Liverpool Echo has reported that German club Borussia Dortmund want to sign Origi and have yet to make an offer, and that Liverpool are not going to accept anything less than £27m as transfer fee.

Turning down Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolves are a very ambitious club who won the Championship title with ease last season, and it is interesting that Origi reportedly turned down a move to Nuno’s side.

The Belgian striker – who earns £28,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – has not made an impact in the Premier League, but the former Lille man is a very talented and promising footballer who will get better in the coming years.
