Liverpool’s Bobby Duncan has returned to Twitter with a bang – although his antics are unlikely to impress those of a Manchester City persuasion.
Duncan left City to return to Liverpool – where his cousin, Steven Gerrard, achieved legend status – earlier this year.
And the 17-year-old striker returned to haunt his previous employers at the weekend, scoring the game’s only goal – his eighth in as many domestic matches this season.
Duncan’s celebration was as emphatic as his finish – holding a finger to his lips as he ran towards the Manchester City bench.
But the England youth international made no apologies afterwards, and even pinned a tweet – one of his first for three months – containing footage of the incident to his profile on the social media website.
And he later tweeted:
Duncan spent his final year at Manchester City sidelined after turning down the Premier League champions’ offer of a new contract.
But Liverpool came along to rescue the Whiston-born talent, paying a reported fee of £200,000 to do so.
