Mamadou Sakho returned to action for Liverpool against Bournemouth.
Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho returned to action for the club against Bournemouth, coming off the bench at half-time for the injured Dejan Lovren.
Sakho has been missing since September through injury, and his comeback is a huge boost to a club which has struggled defensively in recent months.
Against Bournemouth, Sakho only played 45 minutes but accomplished more than any of his fellow centre-backs.
| Match | Tackles | Interceptions | Aerial Duels Won | Accurate Crosses | Shots Blocked | Assists | Goals | Total | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mamadou Sako | Bournemouth v Liverpool | 2 | 2 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 5 | 45 |
| Martin Skrtel | Bournemouth v Liverpool | 1 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 4 | 90 |
| Dejan Lovren | Bournemouth v Liverpool | 0 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 2 | 45 |
| Kolo Toure | Bournemouth v Liverpool | 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 2 | 90 |
Sakho was the only defender to win two tackles, and one of only two to win an aerial duel. His two interceptions was only matched by Dejan Lovren in the first half.
His return is a welcome boost ahead of a huge game at the weekend with Arsenal, and playing 45 minutes in the 3-1 win may set him up nicely for it.
