Liverpool's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain sends heartfelt message to fans

It was an emotional night for Liverpool’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on Friday.

The 25-year-old made his long-awaited senior return for Liverpool after 367 days away from the first team.

Oxlade-Chamberlain suffered a knee injury in a Champions League win over Roma last April, and subsequently missed England’s World Cup campaign in Russia.

But the former Arsenal star earned a 16-minute cameo in the 5-0 drubbing of Huddersfield Town last night.

Anfield erupted when he replaced Daniel Sturridge after 74 minutes and here’s the heartfelt message he sent to Liverpool fans afterwards.

Sentiment aside, it was a massive win for Jurgen Klopp’s side, who move back to the Premier League summit with two games to play.

Manchester City, two points behind, can leapfrog them by beating Burnley at Turf Moor tomorrow.
