Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is bang in form for Liverpool – but there’s more to come.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has told Liverpool fans that there’s still a lot more to come from him.

The former Arsenal star scored the winner for Liverpool in Tuesday night’s 2-1 win over Genk at Anfield.

Oxlade-Chamberlain swiveled on the edge of the box and, with his weaker foot, rifled the ball home.

In this same fixture two weeks ago, the 26-year-old, who missed virtually the entire 2018-19 campaign through injury, scored a brace in Belgium.

After spending a year on the sidelines, it was always going to take Oxlade-Chamberlain a little longer to hit 100 percent but, despite his goalscoring form, he says that he isn’t even in top gear just yet.

He told the Reds’ official website: “I think there’s more to come from me for sure. To get into the team you’ve got to be able to press in a certain way with a certain intensity.

“Also on my attacking as well, I think I can improve on that, but I’m confident it will come and I’ll keep working as hard as I can. I’ll make sure it comes.”

Liverpool spent £40 million on signing the former Southampton starlet from the Gunners in 2017 [The Guardian] and there’s still time for him to live up to that.

Fitness is such a big thing with Oxlade-Chamberlain. Even at Arsenal there were injury issues, but the prospect of him being fully fit is so very exciting and if, by his own admission, he isn’t in peak condition at the moment then it’s frightening to wonder how effective he can be at 100 percent.
