Fenerbahce are reportedly ‘considering’ offering Thiago Alcantara a three-year deal worth £125,000-a-week as the Liverpool midfielder faces an uncertain future at the Premier League giants.
With a first Super Lig title in 10 years very much in their sights, no one could question Fenerbahce’s ambition.
The Istanbul powerhouses have made quite the splash in the transfer market in an attempt to close the gap between themselves and bitter rivals Galatasaray, bringing in big names such as Edin Dzeko, Dusan Tadic, Cengiz Under, Dominik Livakovic, Fred and one-time Liverpool youngster Ryan Kent.
And, with a deep-lying playmaker the top priority before the window closes on Friday, Fenerbahce are reportedly weighing up an eye-watering offer for another 30-something veteran; Liverpool’s Thiago Alcantara.

Liverpool’s Thiago Alcantara offered Turkey chance
According to Takvim, Fenerbahce are mulling over a deal which would see Thiago take home around £125,000-a-week over the course of three years at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.
Ismail Kartal’s side have reportedly offered Liverpool a transfer fee of £4.5 million too. It remains to be seen whether Jurgen Klopp is willing to let a player of Thiago’s ability and experience go. But with less than 12 months left on his contract – and with Alexis Mac Allister impressing in the deep-lying playmaker role – Liverpool may consider now the right time to move on from the injury-prone Spaniard.
Especially after yet another spell on the treatment table; the £27 million signing from Bayern Munich yet to make a single appearance in 2023/24.
Klopp should also welcome the very highly-rated Stefan Bajcetic back from his own injury-enforced absence sooner rather than later.
Fenerbahce eye Premier League raid

Takvim, meanwhile, reports that Thiago is one of six midfield targets under consideration by Fenerbahce. Kartal’s side also like Braga’s Al-Musrati, Andre Gomes of Everton and Borussia Dortmund enforcer Salih Ozcan. Manchester United misfits Scott McTominay and Donny van de Beek too.
Aston Villa benchwarmer Leander Dendoncker is another reportedly on the radar.
