Adam Lallana has been speaking about goal targets ahead of Liverpool’s match against Tottenham Hotspur.

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has been speaking about his goal target for the season.

In comments published by the Reds’ official website, the £25million summer signing said, “In pre-season, I wanted to reach double figures.

“I’ve obviously had a few injuries and been in and out of the team, but in a team like Liverpool when we’re playing well there’s no reason why I shouldn’t get that still.”

Lallana has scored four goals so far this season, netting against West Bromwich Albion, Leicester City and twice against Swansea City. And while he has suffered a couple of minor injuries in this campaign there is no reason he cannot go on to reach his target.

After all, in his final season at Southampton, the England international scored 10 times and surrounded by the likes of Raheem Sterling, Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho, he should get chances aplenty in the weeks ahead.

Liverpool’s next match is a home game against Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday evening and the club will want to get back to winning ways after dropping two points in a disappointing Merseyside derby last weekend.
