Liverpool fancy signing Zeno Debast

90Min now report that Liverpool are now keeping a very close eye on Anderlecht defender Zeno Debast.

It’s stated that Liverpool have been ‘hugely impressed’ by Debast’s development and scouts have been watching him on numerous occasions,.

Borussia Dortmund are also understood to be interested in Debast, who looks like being the next big sale off the Anderlecht production line.

Romelu Lukaku, Youri Tielemans, Dennis Praet, Leander Dendoncker, Jeremy Doku, Alexis Saelemaekers, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Dodi Lukebakio all came through the Anderlecht ranks and have raked in big money for the Belgian side.

Intriguingly, Debast is being compared to another former Anderlecht youth product.

ELF Voetbal note that Debast is being tabbed as ‘the new Vincent Kompany’, which the teenager called an ‘honour’.

Debast, 18, has already turned out 24 times for Anderlecht’s first team and has missed just eight minutes of their Europa Conference League campaign this season.

Debast also already has two caps for Belgium and may be in contention for a trip to the World Cup in Qatar next month.

Roberto Martinez is a big fan and it now looks Liverpool feel a similar way about Debast, believing that the teenager has a huge future ahead of him.

Debast is under contract until 2025, so Anderlecht aren’t exactly under pressure to sell and Liverpool may face a decent fee to lure him to Anfield.
