Liverpool want Yunus Musah and the Valencia star has been branded as being on par with Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe.
The Reds are scouring the globe for midfield additions ahead of the summer 2023 window.
Jude Bellingham is of course the top target but Liverpool may also have other targets in mind with so many midfielders likely to leave.
Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner and Arthur Melo look set to go and Liverpool may need two or even three midfield signings.

Liverpool want Yunus Musah
One name in the mix is Valencia midfielder Yunus Musah.
90Min claim that Liverpool have contacted Musah’s representatives ahead of launching a move for the American international.
Chelsea have also been in contact whilst Musa’s former club Arsenal are watching with interest.
Valencia want to keep hold of Musah but a move to the Premier League may seriously appeal after impressing at the World Cup.
Musah, 20, has been outstanding for USA in Qatar and Liverpool are looking to bring him to Anfield.
Some Liverpool fans may not be all that familiar with Musah but he does have some history in English football.
Musah was in the Arsenal ranks for seven years before leaving to join Valencia back in 2019.
Now a first-team player in Spain, Musah has developed into a quality midfielder and may be ready for Premier League action.
One man who certainly rates Musah highly is his former coach Trevor Bumstead.
Bumstead spoke to First Time Finish last year and covered the rise of Musah.
Bumstead – who worked as a youth coach at Arsenal and West Ham United – offered major praise to the youngster.
He noted that, having worked with the likes of Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe, Musah is ‘on the same level’.
Bumstead raved about Musah’s physical stats and highlighted how coaches would have to drag him away from the pitch.
“It’s always difficult predicting who will go on to play first-team football,” said Bumstead. “Having worked with Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe, I would consider Musah to be on the same level as those.”
“His physical stats at under-16 would compare to our first-team players. The sports scientists dragged him off the pitch. He was consistent in his behaviours which led him to be consistent in his performances. He recognised his strengths and weaknesses,” he added.
Liverpool have been loosely linked with Rice and Saka in recent times but could now secure Musah for a fraction of the price they would cost.
The Reds would certainly love to see Musah hit similar levels to Rice and Saka moving forward, and that potential is ultimately why they’re so keen.
