Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast, Graeme Souness has been discussing Jude Bellingham and Liverpool’s interest in the Borussia Dortmund star.
The Reds have been strongly linked with Bellingham over the past few months, and Souness thinks that this could be a very decent signing for his former club.
Indeed, the pundit says that Liverpool would do well to sign Bellingham, but he states that the Reds will face stiff competition, claiming that if Real Madrid go for the midfielder, the player will be headed to the Bernabeu.

Liverpool would do well to sign Bellingham
Souness spoke about the England international and his potential move to Anfield.
“Graeme how important could it be for Liverpool to sign Jude Bellingham?” The pundit was asked.
“I think all the big guns are after him and I think Liverpool would do well to sign him. I think they will have stiff opposition. The way football works today if Real Madrid come after you you generally end up there. He’s a player, I like him very much, but I just think there are more goals in James Maddison, and I like James Maddison,” Souness said.
Madrid too alluring
Souness is right, a move to Real Madrid is way too alluring for a player these days, especially as a young midfielder.
Think about it, Madrid are the most successful team in Champions League history, and they do need to transition away from the likes of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos in recent years.
The idea of forging out a Modric or Kroos-esque legacy at Los Blancos may well be too tempting for Bellingham, and ultimately, it may cost Liverpool the chance to sign the star.
