Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are competing with Unai Emery’s Aston Villa for the signing of Las Palmas playmaker Alberto Moleiro in the summer transfer window, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Liverpool and Aston Villa eye Alberto Moleiro
The Spanish news outlet has claimed that Liverpool and Aston Villa are keen on signing the 19-year-old, who can operate as a winger or as an attacking midfielder.
Former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners Liverpool are willing to pay €25 million (£22 million) for the teenager.
Two potential issues for Liverpool
However, there are two potential problems for Liverpool.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Villa are also ready to pay €25 million (£22 million) for Moleiro.
The other issue is that Liverpool could have to pay much more than that.

While Las Palmas could sell Moleiro for €25 million (£22 million) in the summer transfer window, if they win promotion to La Liga at the end of the season, then the youngster will have a release clause of €60 million (£53.5 million).
Now, Mundo Deportivo have reported that no club would be willing to pay €60 million (£53.5 million) for the teenager, but Las Palmas could in theory still demand that or more than €25 million (£22 million).
Moleiro has made 29 appearances in 2022–23 Segunda Division so far this season.
The teenager has scored eight goals in those games.
