RB Salzburg have set an Easter deadline for Borussia Dortmund to reach an agreement over the signing of Liverpool target Karim Adeyemi.

According to Bild, Salzburg are growing frustrated over the lack of progress in Dortmund’s talks with the German international, with the Bundesliga side not willing to pay the €45m (£38m) asking price for the 20-year-old striker.

As per the report, Salzburg are now willing to drop talks entirely with Dortmund if an agreement is not reached by Easter, which rolls around in just under three weeks, a move that could be huge for Liverpool’s interest in Adeyemi.

Bild have previously reported that Liverpool were monitoring Dortmund’s dealings with Salzburg for Adeyemi, with the Reds eager to pounce for the exciting attacker if the German giants ever pull out of talks for the forward.

Comparing himself to Kylian Mbappe, Adeyemi has been linked with Liverpool for some time, and this latest update from Germany could be a huge boost for Jurgen Klopp’s side in landing the 20-year-old sensation.

With 19 goals in all competitions, Adeyemi looks set to be the latest Salzburg product that will leave their mark on a top-five league after Erling Haaland and Patson Daka. And for Liverpool, they will be hopeful that Dortmund miss their Easter deadline to sign the striker.

With Easter under three weeks away, there is a strong chance that Dortmund could miss out on signing Adeyemi, and for Liverpool, this will be their opportunity to swoop in and sign the German international right from under the noses of Jurgen Klopp’s former side.

Indeed, Adeyemi could be a great addition to the Liverpool attack. And given his versatility, the youngster could be a solid replacement for the likes of Divock Origi and Roberto Firmino, who both could leave Anfield this summer.
