Phil Bardsley says ‘Liverpool will be lucky’ to keep hold of Mohamed Salah as Saudi Arabia side, Al-Ittihad, are trying to sign the Egypt winger.

Liverpool fans and Jurgen Klopp are facing their worst nightmare and that’s Al-Ittihad pushing for Mo Salah’s signature on transfer deadline day, a transfer fee of £150 million has been rejected by the club, as reported by Sky Sports.

But former Premier League defender Bardsley thinks that Salah could still leave Liverpool and that he would be a ‘huge marquee signing’ for the Saudi Pro League, as he told Deadline Day on Sky Sports (01/09/23 at 10:40 am).

As of this moment, the powers that be on Merseyside are batting away anything that is being put on their table, in regards to Salah.

But, if Al-Ittihad increase their offer for the 31-year-old, then at what point do they think that they have no choice but to sell?!

Either way, these are frantic times for the Anfield faithful, with Bardsley reacting to perhaps the biggest deadline day transfer rumour of 2023.

“The players they are bringing in, it’s incredible,” said Bardsley. “They obviously want to make it an outstanding league and they have done that by bringing in some high-class sales.

“Looking at it from the outside, there is lots of speculation and internet in Salah. I think he would be a huge marquee signing over there and I think Liverpool will be lucky to keep him.”

Liverpool without Salah

The Reds have had many issues during the past 12 months, mainly in midfield and in defence, but one area that has faired well is the attack.

But if you take Salah out of that, then it does seriously weaken the team.

Last season, Klopp watched his players stagnate out on the pitch and then finish outside of the Champions League places, which has proven to be costly.

If they end up losing Salah, then you would imagine that they would find it very, very difficult to get back into the top four this season.
