Speaking to SportsLens, Ray Parlour has been discussing Jude Bellingham’s future after Gilberto Silva suggested that Arsenal should sign the young midfielder.
The English star is attracting attention from almost every top club in Europe, so why shouldn’t the current Premier League leaders get involved in the race for his signature?
Arsenal would surely love to have a player like Bellingham in their midfield, but this move may well be out of the Gunners’ reach.
Parlour was asked whether or not Arsenal should sign Bellingham, and while he says that this would be a great signing, he reckons this could be slightly out of the Gunners reach, stating that clubs such as Liverpool or Man City could be ahead of Arsenal in the race.

Bellingham not for Arsenal
Parlour discussed Bellingham’s future.
“I think we definitely need another midfielder but whether they’ll be willing to spend the sort of money Dortmund are going to be asking I don’t know. You’re going to be looking at £100m plus add ons now but certainly he’s a fantastic talent he really is but Liverpool will be in the market for him and Manchester City too,” Parlour said.
“There will be loads of offers but I just hope he comes back to the Premier League. I can see why Birmingham retired his shirt now because they knew just how good he’s going to be.”
Not in Arsenal’s reach
Unfortunately for the Gunners, Parlour may be right, a player like Bellingham is out of reach for them at the moment.
While it’s unknown just how much the midfielder will end up costing, it’s fair to assume that he will be north of £100m given the calibre of clubs in for him.
Arsenal are growing in stature under Mikel Arteta’s management, but they’re not quite at the point of being able to go out and get one of the most-wanted young players in Europe.
