Liverpool look set to miss out on signing Sao Paulo defender Lucas Beraldo as he close sin on a move to sign Paris Saint-Germain instead.
The Reds are likely to focus on signing another defender in 2024.
Joel Matip has sadly suffered a season-ending injury and Liverpool may start looking for long-term centre back options.
A left-footer would seemingly be ideal for Liverpool and there have been links to the likes of Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie.
Liverpool have looked at other options too but one target now appears to be heading to Paris Saint-Germain instead…
Liverpool target Lucas Beraldo looks set for Paris Saint-Germain move
Foot Mercato reporter Santi Aouna claims that PSG are now ‘confident’ of securing the signing of Sao Paulo defender Lucas Beraldo.
It’s stated that PSG are ‘close’ to an agreement with Sao Paulo over a deal worth €20million (£17.2million) plus €5million (£4.3million) in add-ons.
That takes the deal to around £21.5million and a medical could take place next week with Beraldo seemingly heading for France.
PSG are hoping to make this a Brazilian double deal as they are also in advanced talks to sign Corinthians midfielder Gabriel Moscardo.

This will be a blow for Liverpool, who had been eyeing up Beraldo for a move to Anfield.
UOL Esporte in Brazil reported just last month that Liverpool were ‘the favourite club’ to sign Beraldo.
The 20-year-old had seemingly impressed Liverpool with his displays for Sao Paulo and Reds scouts have watched him for more than 18 months now.
Liverpool now appear to have been pipped though, with Beraldo all set for a move to France rather than England.
That leaves Liverpool to go back to the drawing board in their search for a new defender with Matip’s injury potentially tempting Jurgen Klopp and co into a January move.
