Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy insists the Premier League giants should not look at former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel when Jurgen Klopp leaves Anfield in the summer.
Wherever Jurgen Klopp goes, Thomas Tuchel often follows.
The 50-year-old inherited Klopp’s job at Mainz before taking over from him at Borussia Dortmund too. And with a Liverpool living legend confirming that this will be his final season in the Anfield dugout, Tuchel’s impending departure from Bayern Munich has raised suspicions that the former PSG coach could once again follow in the footsteps of the 2020 Premier League-winning tactician.

Liverpool urged to stay away from Thomas Tuchel
Murphy, however, believes that the Champions League trophy Tuchel secured during his time at Stamford Bridge is not enough to offset the potential downsides to appointing a man who’s penchant for criticising his own team – not to mention his bosses – have led to many a tense situation.
“No, he doesn’t fit them,” Murphy tells talkSPORT when asked about the prospect of Tuchel returning to England in the North West. “He’s too divisive. He’s not a Liverpool manager. Not for me.”
Saturday’s horrifying 3-2 defeat at relegation-threatened Bochum means Bayern have now lost three games in a row in all competitions, slipping eight points behind a Bayer Leverkusen side who’s own head coach Xabi Alonso – HITC Football understands – is currently Liverpool’s number one target.
Bayern confirmed on Tuesday that Tuchel will leave the Allianz Arena at the end of the current campaign, with a repeat of last season’s remarkable smash-and-grab title win on the last day looking more unlikely by the week.

“It’s not a surprise to me (that Tuchel is leaving),” Murphy adds. “Let’s be honest, Bayern Munich should have lost the title to Borussia Dortmund last season. They ended up winning it on the final day (when Borussia Dortmund collapsed at Mainz).
“So things haven’t been great there for a while.”
In addition to Alonso, Brentford’s Thomas Frank, Tottenham’s Ange Postecoglou and Feyenoord coach Arne Slot have all been forced to speak out about reports linking them with Liverpool since Klopp’s January bombshell.
