The Birmingham Mail are reporting that John McGinn will not leave Aston Villa for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

What’s the story?

The Athletic reported this week that Liverpool are interested in signing McGinn from Premier League rivals Villa.

The former Premier League champions are looking for a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum.

The Netherlands international midfielder has left the Reds for Paris Saint-Germain.

McGinn is the player Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants to replace Wijnaldum with.

The Merseyside club will reportedly have to pay up to £50 million as transfer fee for the Scotland international.

Will John McGinn leave?

No.

That’s according to The Birmingham Mail today.

‘He’s not leaving,’ states the report, adding, ‘McGinn will be an Aston Villa player’ next season as well.

That might be true as of today, but anything is possible in the summer transfer window.

We all know that.

Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and a big offer from the Reds could be hard for Villa to turn down.

McGinn, 26, himself could be tempted to make the move to Liverpool and challenge for the Premier League and the Champions League year after year.
