Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are interested in signing Ismaila Sarr from Watford, but they are facing competition from AC Milan, according to Corriere Dello Sport.
The report has claimed that although Milan are keen on signing the Senegal international winger, they are aware of the strong competition they are facing from Liverpool.
Telelombardia have added that Milan, who could win the Serie A title this season, have held talks with the player’s intermediaries recently.
Do Liverpool need Ismaila Sarr?
In our opinion, Liverpool do not need to sign Sarr, even though the winger is “frightening” and whose “acceleration is phenomenal”, according to his Watford teammate Ben Foster on the Premier League’s YouTube channel in September 2021.
Sarr’s weekly salary of £63,000 (Spotrac) is also very much within Liverpool’s means.
However, we do not think that Liverpool need another winger this summer.

After all, the Reds signed Luis Diaz from FC Porto only in the January transfer window.
Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino are the other attacking options available to manager Klopp at the moment.
And then there is the talented Harvey Elliott.
Do Liverpool really need another winger?
Not in our view.
Sarr, 24, has scored five goals and provided one assist in 15 Premier League starts for Watford so far this season.
