Liverpool are reportedly keen on luring Crystal Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha to Jurgen Klopp’s side – a player that Jamie Carragher said earlier this season is “out of this world”, when it comes to his finishing after scoring at Anfield.
Zaha, 29, has continued his sparkling form under Patrick Vieira this season. Having not been renowned for his goal record under Roy Hodgson, the introduction of Vieira saw him score 15 times in all competitions last season.
This time around, the Ivory Coast international has continued said form. He has five goals in nine Premier League matches, his latest coming on Tuesday night. Palace beat Wolves 2-1 at Selhurst Park, coming from a goal down.
Ebere Eze got the first and created the second, sliding in Odsonne Edouard who squared to Zaha. The winger’s first of the season, though, came at Anfield. After the match, Carragher raved about his finish – in a 1-1 draw with the Reds.

Talking to Sky Sports, as per Football London, Carragher said: “The finish is absolutely out of this world. Against one of the best goalkeepers in world football, too. That is always going to be a problem that channel with pace.”

What a signing Zaha would be for Liverpool. While he is not the kind of player they might normally target, given he turns 30 next month, he would be an instant success. A player that can replace the loss of Sadio Mane on the left.
One of the Premier League’s best left-sided wingers, he has single-handedly dragged Palace out of relegation scraps. With Zaha in the side, Palace are easily a mid-table team. Without him, they would be right down at the bottom.
If the Reds can bring him in on a free next summer, or even as early as January, they would strengthen their side no doubt. But the question remains, will Liverpool move for a player that will be 30 by the time they can sign him?
