The two sides meet at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

This weekend sees Liverpool host newly-promoted Hull City at Anfield in their sixth game of the season.

It is the first time the two sides have met since April 2015 when a Michael Dawson goal saw the Tigers to victory.

They have both enjoyed relatively strong starts to the season; the Reds have picked up 10 points from their first five games while Mike Phelan’s side have seven points to their name.

Liverpool’s attacking prowess has taken the plaudits so far this season, with 11 goals so far the third-best record in the league.

Hull have not managed quite as many with just six but have still impressed by what they have offered.

Two key men on either side are midfielders Philippe Coutinho and Robert Snodgrass, so we took a look at how they have compared so far this season.

It turns out that the Liverpool man has fared the better, coming out on top in five of the eight key areas looked at.

On a per game basis, he has registered more accurate passes and more successful final-third passes than Snodgrass.

However, the Tigers midfielder has enjoyed a better overall passing accuracy.

Coutinho has also posted more assists and fewer unsuccessful touches per game than his rival.

He has also been more involved than the Scotland star, posting more touches per game, although only by a narrow margin.

It is not all bad news for Snodgrass as he came out on top in key passes, while he has also managed more goals than the Brazilian.

A win for Coutinho, though and whoever comes out on top on Saturday will likely play a key role in which team comes away from Anfield with all three points.
