Liverpool came from behind to beat Norwich City 3-1 on Saturday afternoon, with Virgil van Dijk possibly playing a huge role in the fightback.
Many were expecting the Reds to coast past relegation-threatened Norwich, but that really wasn’t the case at Anfield.
Milot Rashica was linked with Liverpool for much of last year and opened the scoring against the Reds, with his long-range strike deflecting into the net via Joel Matip.
Liverpool had to regroup and come back stronger. Little did they know how important this game would prove to be.
Sadio Mane levelled it up before Mohamed Salah turned the game on its head, with Luis Diaz sealing the win by scoring his first Liverpool goal.
Manchester City later lost 3-2 to Tottenham Hotspur, meaning Liverpool have cut the gap to City to six points – whilst having a game in hand.
There is real hope building that Liverpool can now challenge for the title again, especially having shown the resolve to fight back against Norwich.
One man who maybe didn’t see that comeback happening was Jonathan Woodgate, with the former England defender covering the game for BBC Sport.
Woodgate suggested at 16:14 – with Liverpool 1-0 down – that the Reds didn’t ‘look together’ on the pitch.

Just six minutes later, Mane had bagged Liverpool’s equaliser and Salah had put the Reds in front another three minutes after that.
Woodgate noted that Virgil van Dijk was trying to get the team together, attempting to rally the troops in the face of a potential defeat.
That’s the kind of leadership Liverpool need from their key players, and it seems that whatever Van Dijk said worked as the Reds roared back to win.
“Virgil van Dijk is trying to get the team together, because at the moment they don’t look together,” said Woodgate. “When Norwich break, they don’t half break at pace. It’s difficult for Liverpool to control them at times,” he added.
