Liverpool ace Trent Alexander-Arnold was ‘sensational’ against Chelsea in the view of pundit Alan Shearer as the Reds won the FA Cup.
Liverpool were seeking a second trophy of the season and a second cup final win over Chelsea.
The Reds beat Chelsea on penalties in the Carabao Cup final back in February after a 0-0 draw in 120 minutes.
Remarkably it was the exact same on Saturday evening.
Both teams created plenty of chances but just couldn’t find the net, meaning it was another Wembley shootout for Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel.
It was Liverpool who ran out victorious once again as Alisson Becker saved Mason Mount’s penalty in sudden death.
Kostas Tsimikas stepped up to score the crucial penalty, giving Liverpool another domestic cup this season.
With the Premier League and Champions League still a possibility, Liverpool could yet win a quadruple in a stunning season.
Liverpool ace Trent Alexander-Arnold was ‘sensational’ against Chelsea
There were a number of fine performances in the Liverpool team, especially across the back line.
Ibrahima Konate dealt with Romelu Lukaku perfectly whilst Joel Matip stepped in well when Virgil van Dijk went off injury.
Arguably the standout performer though was right back Alexander-Arnold, who had a tough job defensively.

Marcos Alonso and Christian Pulisic are teaming up down Chelsea’s left flank and causing problems for Alexander-Arnold.
Alexander-Arnold equipped himself well defensively though and then had the quality to make an impact going forward.
Questions are posed about Alexander-Arnold’s defensive ability but if people are really watching him, they will realise his enormous improvements.
Pundit Alan Shearer was certainly impressed, telling BBC Sport (14/05, 7:45pm) that he felt Alexander-Arnold was ‘sensational’ for Liverpool against Chelsea.
Shearer praised Alexander-Arnold’s defending as well as his ‘outrageous’ passing, even hailing his ‘fantastic’ penalty in the shootout.
“I think Trent Alexander-Arnold was sensational today,” said Shearer. “Both defensively and some of his passing was outrageous. For him then to go and stick a penalty away as cool as he did, I thought he was fantastic,” he added.
