Grealish told The Birmingham Mail last season that boss Steve Bruce urged him to pay attention to Roberto Firmino.
He said: “He is always showing me stats of where Firmino is at for Liverpool and what Kevin De Bruyne does for Man City.
“He feels if they can do it, why can’t I?”
Grealish was referring specifically to the amount of distance each player covers per game, and Bruce pushing him on his fitness has helped set him up for Premier League success wherever he ends up.
Firmino is a near perfect player for someone like Grealish to look up to and try to replicate.
