Liverpool have broken their club-record transfer fee once already this summer by landing winger Mohamed Salah from Roma, and they could yet do it again.
The Daily Mail today report that Liverpool are still pushing to sign RB Leipzig midfield maestro Naby Keita – and have been given encouragement that a deal could go through.

It’s stated that Keita has told Leipzig that he wants to leave the club despite them qualifying for the Champions League, and Liverpool are readying their move.
Keita, 22, allegedly has a £48million release clause in his contract that can be activated in the summer of 2018, but Liverpool are prepared to offer more than that to get a deal done now – even though Leipzig want a huge £70million for him.
The Guinean international notched eight goals and seven assists in 31 appearances last season, starring as an all-round midfielder with mobility, technical ability and a remarkable engine.
Elsewhere, The Guardian claim that Crystal Palace have now given up hope of signing loanee Mamadou Sakho on a permanent basis, as they can’t afford Liverpool’s £30million asking price.

Sakho, who was completely frozen out by Jurgen Klopp last season, joined Palace on loan in January and excelled at Selhurst Park, and whilst he still has no future under Klopp, Liverpool appear to have priced Palace out of a deal.
Finally, defender Andre Wisdom has completed his exit from Anfield, penning a permanent deal with Championship side Derby County.
