Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves reportedly wants to stay in the Premier League amid interest from Liverpool, with FC Barcelona also linked with signing the Portuguese midfielder.
According to Sport, the former FC Porto star is keen to remain in England as a summer move looms ever closer for the Wolves midfielder, with Neves now narrowing his options by declaring that he wants to sign for a Premier League club with Liverpool one of the interested parties.
As per the report, Manchester United and Newcastle United are also chasing Neves, though Liverpool’s midfield issues could make the Reds an ideal location for the 25-year-old, with Jurgen Klopp set to spend big on the position in the summer transfer window.
Lauded as ‘sensational’ by pundit Gary Neville, Neves is regarded by many as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League outside the traditional top-six. And for Liverpool, the Wolves star’s desire to stay in England is massive for the Reds ahead of the summer.

Indeed, Liverpool realistically need one or two top-quality midfielders if they’re to solve their issues in the position that have played a huge role in the Anfield’s side utter collapse this season. And Neves stating he wants to remain in the Premier League will give Klopp a huge boost for the upcoming window.
Moreover, with Barcelona now more interested in a move to sign Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi, Liverpool could have a clear path to sign Neves in the summer, even with Newcastle and Erik Ten Hag’s United also chasing the Portuguese international.
Liverpool should go all out to sign Neves in the summer

As mentioned, Liverpool will likely need more than one top central midfield this summer given the current decline of the likes of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and James Milner, with Thiago Alcantara’s injury problems a constant issue for Klopp. And as a result, Neves must be a prime target for the Reds, alongside another quality option.
The Wolves star has been one of the best in the Premier League ever since the Molineux side returned to the Premier League. And with Neves keen to test himself at a bigger club, Liverpool are the perfect landing spot for the former Porto star, even without UEFA Champions League football.
