Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are interested in signing Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window, according to Sport 1 journalist Kerry Hau on the Die Bayern Woche podcast on Sport 1.

Hau has claimed that Liverpool have made their first move for the midfielder and have asked his agents about his personality.

Bayern do not want to sell the 20-year-old Netherlands international midfielder, but the £16 million (BBC Sport) player will consider a move to Anfield.

The £152,000-a-week (SalarySport) youngster has struggled for playing time at Bayern since his move from Ajax in the summer of 2022.

Gravenberch has made one start and 12 substitute appearances in the Bundesliga for Bayern so far this season.

The 20-year-old has also made two starts and four substitute appearances in the UEFA Champions League for the Bavarian giants.

Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch will consider Liverpool move

“Liverpool are interested,” Hau said on the Die Bayern Woche podcast on Sport 1, as transcribed by Sport Witness.

“They want to rejuvenate their midfield in the summer and can well imagine getting two new eights – another player in addition to the desired player Jude Bellingham.

“His name has been mentioned more often by those responsible, (there is no concrete interest yet) but the situation is being examined and they have already contacted Gravenberch’s people to ask about him, what type of person he is.

“You have to be honest: when he got the chance, he couldn’t recommend himself 100% (at Bayern).

“Bayern’s attitude is clear: they don’t want to give him up (but Gravenberch will) certainly give it some thought.”

Could a transfer happen?

In our view, if Ryan Gravenberch really wants to leave Bayern Munich, then Liverpool will be able to sign the midfielder.

However, the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners will have to pay a lot in transfer fees.

Bayern are a massive club who will not want to sell the youngster for anything less than what they signed him and will want a decent profit.
