Fabrizio Romano has said that James Milner is about to leave Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and join Brighton and Hove Albion.
The Italian journalist has said on the Here We Go podcast that Milner has decided to leave Liverpool.
The former Leeds United and Newcastle United midfielder is reportedly one step away from completing the move to Brighton.
Romano has added that an agreement between Milner and Brighton is really close now.
The Athletic reported in March that Liverpool manager Klopp wants Milner to stay at Anfield beyond the summer of 2023.
The 37-year-old £120,000 per week (SalarySport) Englishman is out of contract at Liverpool at the end of the season.
90min have reported that Leeds, Everton and Nottingham Forest all are also interested in signing Milner on a free transfer in the summer of 2023.

In our view, it makes sense that James Milner is leaving Liverpool for Brighton and Hove Albion.
Milner is past his prime now, and Liverpool need younger players in the middle of the park who can play well consistently and are dynamic.
We have seen how the likes of Adam Lallana and Danny Welbeck have flourished at Brighton.
Now, Milner is not going to play week in and week out for the Seagulls, but his experience and ability to do a job whenever he is needed will help Brighton grow and develop as a club and as a team.
