Liverpool are reportedly still interested in signing Brighton & Hove Albion star Moises Caicedo despite the midfielder signing new contract with the Seagulls this week.
According to the Telegraph, the Ecuador international is still strongly tipped to leave Brighton at the end of this season even with the wonderkid signing a new contract with the Amex Stadium side, with Liverpool one of many Premier League clubs chasing the youngster.
As per the report, Chelsea and Manchester United are both interested in Caicedo whilst Arsenal went big on trying to sign the South American talent in January to no avail, with Liverpool also in the hunt for the Brighton maestro, who could leave for huge bucks in the summer.
Valued by Brighton in January at £90m, there’s a strong chance that Roberto De Zerbi’s side will increase this asking price given how impressive Caicedo has been this season and the benchmark Chelsea have foolishly set on players of the Ecuadorian’s profile.

Indeed, Caicedo’s new contract gives Brighton all the power in dealing with a potential transfer in the summer. However, given how much the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea have to spend, the 21-year-old still looks likely to secure a move at the end of the season.
The question now becomes which club will win the race for Caicedo, with Liverpool unlikely to match the biggest bidder given that one Jude Bellingham is the Reds’ main target for the summer, a player who many supporters and Jurgen Klopp would prefer to sign than the Brighton youngster.
Caicedo’s new contract could effectively end real Liverpool interest

Liverpool might still hold an interest in Caicedo, but once the summer window opens for business, there’s little chance that the Reds will go full steam ahead with the Ecuador international given how much power the Seagulls hold in any talks for the midfielder this off-season.
As we know, Bellingham is Liverpool’s main target for the summer, and whilst Caicedo is an outstanding alternative, the Borussia Dortmund man is still the goal for many top people at Anfield as well as supporters, with the Brighton star a second-choice pick if all goes poorly.
