Liverpool have reportedly issued an enquiry to sign Eintracht Frankfurt superstar Jesper Lindstrom, with Arsenal also interested in the Danish international.
According to Tipsbladet, the Bundesliga wonderkid is on Jurgen Klopp’s radar amid growing interest in the 22-year-old, who this season has been one of the best players in Germany with eight goals and two assists in all competitions.
As per the report, Liverpool aren’t expected to make a bid for Lindstrom just yet, though the Reds already face some strong competition for the Scandinavian talent from Arsenal, CalcioMercato recently claiming that the north London side have been in talks to sign the Dane.
Having missed out on Mykhailo Mudryk in recent days, Arsenal are expected to intensify and broaden their search to sign a winger this January, and based on Lindstrom’s form this season as well as his £27m price tag according to Bild, the attacker would be a solid alternative for the Gunners.

Moreover, whilst Liverpool have now sent an enquiry to sign Lindstrom, the recent arrival of Cody Gakpo could make a move extremely unlikely given just how much depth the Merseyside club now have in their wide-attacking areas, even with Luis Diaz out through injury.
Indeed, this could lead to Lindstrom himself rejecting the chance to sign for Liverpool even with the winger admitting he is a fan of the Reds, especially with Arsenal seemingly still in the mix to land the Danish superstar this January.
Liverpool signing Lindstrom would be an unusual move

As mentioned, Liverpool have already landed one winger this January in Gakpo, and given how everyone and their mother is aware of Klopp’s midfield issues, signing yet another player who primarily plays out wide would be an unusual mood, to say the least.
Although Lindstrom has adapted to a more central attacking role this campaign with Frankfurt, Liverpool will be better off signing a more natural player in the position than a talent who has only just got to grips with playing a vaguely similar position.
