Liverpool gem Stefan Bajcetic has now caught the interest of Barcelona and Real Madrid in a future transfer. The La Liga giants admire the midfielder’s early form under Jurgen Klopp.

That is according to Calciomercato, which reports that Barcelona and Real Madrid are now tracking Bajcetic. The 18-year-old has notified the Classico rivals of his potential at Anfield in recent months. Now, they view him as a potential reinforcement for their future squads.

Barcelona and Real Madrid chiefs believe the Spanish youth international could hold a role in their engine rooms one day. He is already earning a prominent role with Liverpool under Klopp this term. The Celta Vigo product has now played 15 times since his debut in August.

Klopp afforded Bajcetic his senior Reds bow following 18 months in the academy set-up on Merseyside. The teenager headed to Anfield from Celta Vigo’s youth fold after seven years in his hometown club’s set-up. Now, he is holding a leading role in the Reds’ engine room.

Bajcetic has started Liverpool’s past four Premier League fixtures against Chelsea, Wolves, Everton and Newcastle United. Klopp also started the youngster at home to Real Madrid in the Champions League this Tuesday. He played 85 minutes of their 5-2 last 16 first-leg loss.

Bajcetic had not started in a Champions League tie before lining up with Liverpool at home to Real Madrid. His three previous games in the UEFA competition had each come as a late substitute. The midfielder had further not opened a Premier League match before January.

Now, Bajcetic’s efforts with Liverpool have Barcelona and Real Madrid showing an interest in his transfer for their future plans. Klopp has also lauded the 6ft talent for his efforts with the Reds of late. The Anfield boss hailed the teenager as ‘exceptional’ after facing Everton.

Jamie Carragher also named Bajcetic as the Man of the Match in the Merseyside Derby. He played a pivotal role in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over their Stanley Park neighbours. The visit of Everton to Anfield was also the second time that Klopp let Bajcetic play a full 90 minutes.
