Newcastle United and Liverpool transfer target Perr Schuurs has admitted he may not stay at Torino next season. But his focus ‘right now’ is only on ending this season well.
Speculation about the 23-year-old’s future is rife after Schuurs was pictured with his agent at San Siro on Tuesday night. They attended the Champions League semi-final between AC Milan and Inter Milan as the Nerazzurri secured a 3-0 win on aggregate to reach the final.
His presence at the game was interesting with Calciomercato, which quotes Schuurs giving a direct reply on his future, noting that Inter Milan are interested in the Torino enforcer. But the Nerazzurri feel Toro president Urbano Cairo’s asking price of €30m (£26m) is too excessive.

What has Perr Schuurs now said about his future at Torino?
Reports by Tuttosport this March even noted that Torino would want €50m (£43.5m) to sell Schuurs amid interest from Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp has wanted to sign the Dutchman since 2020. The Reds boss is also more convinced than ever that Liverpool should target Schuurs.
So strong, in fact, is Klopp’s appreciation of the centre-back that Liverpool contacted Torino to discuss Schuurs’ transfer. But the Anfield outfit may face Premier League competition as Gianluca Di Marzio noted in April that Newcastle’s Saudi-backed owners also want Schuurs.
The 6 ft 3 enforcer attending Inter’s 1-0 win over AC Milan on Tuesday night has not helped to quell the speculation surrounding the Dutchman, either. But Schuurs states he was only at the match as a spectator. He is also focused on finishing his debut season at Torino well.
“Will I stay in Turin for at least another season? I don’t know. We will see,” Schuurs said. “I only went to Milan to watch the game, not to meet one of the clubs. My focus right now is on Torino, it’s on these last three matches, which are important for us, but also for me.”

Torino could make a big profit out of Liverpool or Newcastle
Torino could secure a big profit from Schuurs’ debut season should Liverpool, Newcastle or Inter Milan advance their interest in a transfer. He only joined the Serie A side from Ajax in August for €9.5m (£8.25m), plus €3.5m (£3m) with add-ons. He signed a four-year contract.
Schuurs has been a big hit in Turin to catch the attention of the Premier League’s and Serie A’s elite. The Dutchman has started in 25 of his 27 Italian top-flight appearances so far this season. He has also helped Il Toro register eight clean sheets, including once against Lazio.
